Our client is seeking a fully qualified Financial Accountant to join a dynamic and expanding finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring financial integrity, driving process improvements, and providing valuable commercial insights to support their continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and analyse end-to-end financial statements in strict compliance with AASB and IFRS standards.
* Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes smoothly and efficiently.
* Ensure statutory compliance, including the preparation and lodgement of BAS, FBT, and Payroll Tax, while assisting with corporate income tax requirements.
* Maintain rigorous internal financial controls and procedures
Analysis & Business Partnering
* Conduct complex balance sheet reconciliations, proactively identifying and resolving variances.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist with budget preparation, rolling forecasts, and variance analysis.
* Translate financial data into meaningful commentary and deliver ad-hoc reporting to support senior leadership decision-making.
Team Collaboration & Audit Management
* Act as a key point of contact for external and internal auditors, managing requests and providing clear explanations.
* Mentor, guide, and support the professional development of junior colleagues within the team.
Requirements
* 3+ years experience within accounting
* CA / CPA fully qualified or near completion
* Ideally a mixture of audit / business services background and some commercial experience
* Excellent knowledge of AASB, IFRS and tax requirements
* Advanced excel skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with non-finance stakeholders.
* A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
