Sport Teacher (1 day per week)
Position Details
St Joseph's School Waroona is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic and relational educator to join our staff in the role of Sport Teacher (0.2 FTE – One day per week) commencing 20 July 2026 until 31 December 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who enjoys working with primary‐aged students and promoting participation, teamwork and lifelong healthy habits through physical activity and sport.

Responsibilities
* Delivering the Health and Physical Education curriculum across the school from Kindergarten to Year 6
* Designing, implementing and assessing engaging, active and dynamic sport lessons
* Supporting the organisation and running of school athletics and swimming carnivals
* Assisting staff with monitoring and tracking student health, fitness and participation
* Promoting a strong culture of participation, enjoyment and active lifestyles for all students
* Providing students with a variety of sporting opportunities and experiences
* Working with outside organisations to coordinate engaging sporting clinics and programs
* Assisting with applications for programs and grants, including Sporting Schools, to support student opportunities
* Working collaboratively with staff from our school and neighbouring schools when organising carnivals, interschool sport and other events
* Supporting the Catholic ethos and values of the school in all aspects of school life

Qualifications Required
* Relevant teaching qualifications and current TRBWA registration
* Current Working with Children Check
* Demonstrated experience or interest in primary physical education and sport
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Ability to foster student participation, confidence and enjoyment in sport and physical activity
