Heritage Professional – Brisbane
Join AECOM's environmental practice in Brisbane as an experienced Heritage Professional. The role focuses on delivering cultural heritage assessments, managing impacts, and supporting sustainable outcomes across diverse projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver cultural heritage assessments for a diverse mix of clients and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidance.
* Complete desktop assessments including background research, data review and heritage value identification.
* Undertake field surveys to locate, record and assess Aboriginal and historical heritage places and objects.
* Prepare accurate, fit‐for‐purpose technical reports aligned with client needs and approval pathways.
* Work closely with communities, regulators and project teams to support practical, respectful heritage outcomes.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated experience delivering cultural heritage assessments in either Aboriginal or historical heritage.
* Capability across desktop assessments and field surveys, with a solid understanding of State and Commonwealth heritage legislation and approval pathways.
* Strong heritage report writing skills, high attention to detail and a clear commitment to producing quality, defensible outputs.
* Ability to build effective working relationships with Traditional Owners, regulators, clients and multidisciplinary project teams.
* Minimum of an Honours degree in cultural heritage management, archaeology, anthropology or a related discipline.
* Current manual C‐Class Australian driver licence, willingness to travel for field work, and Australian citizenship to meet Defence project requirements.
