Reporting to the Staff Accountant, the Accounts Payable Officer will perform company accounts payable functions, including vendor invoice payments, on-demand check requests, general ledger entries, and other transactions as directed.
Key Responsibilities
* Handle all accounts payable inquiries, monthly reconciliations, and company credit card processing and reconciling.
* Receive, review, code, and process supplier invoices in the Accounts Payable AI system.
* Receive, review, code, and process employee expense reimbursements.
* Reconcile company credit card statements with usage reports, code and process for payment.
* Manage monthly creditor payment runs, including printing and mailing payment remittances as directed.
* Correspond with vendors and employees and respond to inquiries.
* Monitor creditor age reports and overdue payments.
* File and maintain all accounts payable documents and invoices.
* Enter client costs and reconcile with invoices when necessary.
* Cross‐train with others in the department as appropriate.
* Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
About You
The Accounts Payable Officer must have training and/or experience deemed adequate to perform these functions. Minimum requirements include:
* Bachelor's or Master's in Business or Accounting, or studying toward CA or CPA.
* Experience in the automotive industry desirable but not essential.
* Three to five years of accounts payable and reconciliations experience.
* A complete understanding of accounts payable functions.
* High level of organisational ability and flexibility.
* Ability to utilise automated accounting software.
* Prior experience with supplier inquiries and reconciliations.
* Strong data entry and Microsoft Excel spreadsheet skills.
* Capacity to handle multiple priorities.
* Ability to complete tasks in a professional, timely manner.
* Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
* Ability to work unsupervised when needed.
* Desire to solve problems quickly and independently.
