A well-established, growth-focused professional services business is seeking a Payroll Officer to cover a colleague on leave. This is a high-volume payroll environment where accuracy, pace, and stakeholder engagement are critical.
The Role
You will take ownership of end-to-end payroll and associated reporting across a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities Include
* End-to-end payroll processing (high volume) including timesheets, expenses, terminations, and backpays
* Accurate creation and distribution of sales invoices aligned to payroll cycles
* Management of contractor leave, onboarding data, and system integrity
* Statutory compliance including payroll tax, PAYG, super, and parental leave
* Preparation of margin reports and support for monthly reconciliations
* Maintenance and continuous improvement of payroll systems and processes
* First point of contact for contractor payroll queries and client invoicing queries
About You
* Proven experience in end-to-end payroll, ideally within a high volume, complex environment
* Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation (PAYG, super, payroll tax)
* High attention to detail with reconciliation and reporting capability
* Confident working across multiple systems and large datasets
* Proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable in a fast-moving environment
* Strong communication skills with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders
