Join our dynamic Power Generation team as a Senior Associate Mechanical Engineer, where you’ll lead and contribute on multidisciplinary projects focused on gas power generation across the entire APAC region and beyond, while also expanding your capabilities further by working on and leading other renewable energy projects. In this role, you will lead and manage gas power generation projects, including pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, concept designs, FEED, detailed design phases, and due diligence projects. You will also actively engage in cross-geography relationships and team-building efforts. This is a high-impact role for an experienced engineer who thrives in complex environments and is passionate about delivering energy solutions to assist the energy transition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and expertise across a range of mechanical engineering systems, focussing particularly on gas turbine power island equipment and balance-of-plant equipment (pumps, pipes, valves, tanks, etc) for a variety of generation projects, and conduct site inspections with transparent, high-quality technical reporting.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, controls) and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to Jacobs quality standards.
- Deliver owner’s engineer services and technical due diligence for major gas power station developments.
- Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development and key project pursuit efforts to enable a sustained ability to win work and identify opportunity pipeline.
- Develop and technical mentor junior team members and contribute to technical business initiatives and communities of practice.
Here’s what you’ll need
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a strong foundation in mechanical engineering and a passion for delivering impactful energy solutions. You’ll be confident leading complex projects and collaborating across disciplines.
- A broad and extensive experience in thermal based generation, with a particular focus on gas turbine related projects, supported by proven project and engineering management and leadership experience.
- Sufficiently familiar with other engineering disciplines and how they interact and interface with generation based projects, again with a particular focus on gas generation projects.
- Proven technical experience in owner’s engineer roles, due diligence, feasibility studies, and concept design projects.
- Proven ability to not only deliver projects once won, but able to pursue and win new work via relationships with clients and proposal development skills.
- Strong communication, leadership, and coordination skills, with the ability to manage a range of different stakeholders and guide project teams.
