This position is Part Time and requires 25-30 hours per week - negotiable for the right person.
About the Role:
We're looking for an experienced and detail-focused
Payroll Officer
who can confidently manage multiple client payrolls end-to-end. You'll handle complex award interpretation, respond promptly to client payroll enquiries, and ensure every pay run is accurate and compliant.
You’ll work both autonomously and collaboratively, managing your own client base while contributing to a supportive team workplace.
Job Responsibilities:
Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls using
Xero,
MYOB,
QBO
and integrated platforms such as
Deputy
and
CanYou
Interpret
WA State
and
Fair Work Awards
to ensure accurate pay rates, penalties, and entitlements
Maintain payroll data, process superannuation, PAYG, and leave accruals
Complete termination calculations & payments, long service leave management & payroll tax reporting
Complete payroll reviews, cleanups, software setups & onboarding new clients
Reconcile payroll and prepare end-of-year summaries (STP, EOFY, etc.)
Respond to client payroll enquiries promptly and professionally
Liaise with payroll associations, human resource experts, and government agencies for compliance guidance and advice
Identify opportunities for process improvement and share best practices within the team
Manage multiple clients in a quick-paced, deadline-driven environment
Skills and experience:

2+ years of experience in payroll processing (multi-client or multi-industry ideal)
Strong working knowledge of
Australian payroll legislation
and compliance standards
Confidence interpreting
WA State

Experience with

&
Deputy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High attention to detail and time management —
essential
Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines across multiple clients
A proactive approach to client communication and problem-solving
Relevant qualifications in Payroll, Bookkeeping, or Accounting (preferred)
