An exciting opportunity has just become available for an experienced State Manager to join a well-established national building services business with operations across VIC, QLD and NSW. This senior leadership role will see you take ownership of the Victorian operation, leading a team of 20 employees while driving operational performance, financial outcomes, customer satisfaction and team engagement. The Opportunity
As State Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the Victorian business, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, teams remain engaged and accountable, and business objectives are consistently achieved. You will directly lead key operational leaders including the Construction Manager, Estimating Manager and Administration Team Leader, while providing strategic direction and support across the wider team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all Victorian operations to achieve business objectives and growth targets
* Drive operational performance, productivity and profitability across the state
* Build, mentor and develop a high‐performing team culture
* Ensure KPIs are achieved across all departments and functions
* Hold team members accountable through effective leadership, coaching and performance management
* Oversee project delivery, estimating, resource planning and operational workflows
* Monitor financial performance, budgets and reporting requirements
* Foster strong relationships with clients, suppliers and key stakeholders
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies
* Promote a culture of safety, professionalism and continuous improvement
About You
* Proven experience in a senior management or State Manager role within construction, building services, insurance building, trade services or a related industry
* Strong understanding of operational management, project delivery and commercial performance
* A people‐first leadership style with the confidence to have difficult conversations when required
* Proven leadership experience in a KPI environment, driving accountability across teams
* Strong financial and business acumen
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* A proactive, driven and results‐focused approach
