Position: Construction Mechanics (Permanent)
Reports to: Project Manager
Job Summary
You will be the face of Otis brand and responsible for the installation of lifts, escalators and travellers in compliance with codes and Otis specifications and procedures.
This position will require travelling across regional areas within each state as needed on a project basis.
In this role, you will work closely with other installers, electricians, adjusters, trade assistants, field engineers and construction coordinators.
Key Responsibilities
* Installation and modernisation of lifts, escalators and travellers with the highest safety and environmental standards and meeting service targets.
* Ensure work is performed in accordance with relevant codes (SAA Lift Code AS1735, AS3000) and applicable awards or enterprise agreements.
* Maintain company tools, equipment and material in good order and safeguard such property.
* Comply with Environmental Health & Safety policies and procedures, reporting any conditions that may impact environment or employees.
* Maintain and work to the Quality System and perform work in accordance with relevant lift industry codes and standards.
* Attend customer hand‐over inspections and service inspections on installation and modernization projects.
* Ensure timely completion of defects identified during inspections in coordination with the Project Manager.
* Identify process improvement opportunities and facilitate continuous improvement to satisfy customers.
Qualifications & Experience
* Trade certificate in electrotechnology and/or Grade A electrical license with an Industry White Card.
* Experience in adjustment, commissioning, fitting work; asbestos awareness preferred.
* Experience in the elevator industry with proven ability to work safely as part of a team or independently.
* Willing to travel across regions and work unsupervised.
* Excellent communication with stakeholders at various levels.
* Solutions‐oriented, independent, well‐organised.
* Ability to perform knowledge transfer and train others.
* Planning and prioritising tasks and completing them timely.
