The Role
As Learning & Development Manager, you will play a key role in nurturing a culture of continuous learning, engagement, and excellence.
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will lead the design and delivery of training programs, support compliance requirements, and facilitate initiatives that foster professional growth and colleague wellbeing across all departments.
Your creativity and people-first approach will help bring our purpose, vision, and values to life, ensuring every colleague feels empowered, supported, and connected.
Key Responsibilities
* Nurture a culture of continuous learning, engagement, and excellence.
* Design and deliver engaging training programs both in-person and through Shangri-La Academy, our online learning platform.
* Facilitate hotel orientation and ensure a positive onboarding experience for all new colleagues.
* Partner with Department Heads to identify training needs, build learning pathways, and support career progression.
* Promote and coordinate employee engagement activities that strengthen culture and collaboration.
* Ensure compliance with company standards and legislative requirements including WHS, Fair Work Act, and Award interpretation.
* Maintain accurate training records, support audits, and provide monthly L&D and HR reporting.
* Support HR initiatives such as performance management, succession planning, and colleague recognition.
Requirements
Experience in Human Resources Learning & Development or Training within hospitality or a related industry is required.
You should have strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to connect with people at all levels.
A proactive and organized approach to managing multiple priorities is essential.
Sound knowledge of employment legislation and compliance frameworks is also required.
A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is highly regarded but not essential.
