As a Compliance Officer, you will support the team's assurance and reporting functions while contributing to strong business performance and efficiency. You'll champion continuous improvement by promoting effective quality and compliance frameworks, robust risk and mitigation strategies, and sound governance practices across the business.
Using your workers compensation expertise, you'll provide advice and guidance to stakeholders, manage compliance queries through to resolution, and work closely with the wider business to identify improvement opportunities. You'll make practical recommendations to enhance processes, drive efficiency, and support positive, sustainable change.
This will be a permanent, full-time position based in the Melbourne office, with work-from-home flexibility (up to 3 days per week) considered.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Use technical or specialist knowledge to inform and educate others, manage queries and issues through to resolution.
* Plan, prepare, execute and report on audits and other ad hoc reviews.
* Make appropriate recommendations to improve business outcomes, improve procedures and identify improvement opportunities that drive efficiency and support change efforts.
* Assist in developing recommendations to ensure compliance requirements are met, risks are managed, and remuneration maximised.
* Assist in the provision of feedback on audit outcomes and remedial actions to relevant staff.
* Assist in the preparation and execution of audits by external auditors.
About You
* Recent and relevant experience in Vic workers' compensation sector with sound knowledge of the scheme, legislation and policies, or the ability to develop knowledge quickly.
* Experience with WorkSafe systems, or the ability to develop system knowledge quickly.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow set protocols.
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
