About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated individual to join the ACT Pathology team as a Technical Officer.
In this position, you will be responsible for the duties at the reception of the specimen collection point such as updating and maintaining patient information, preparing specimens for analysis, and responding to service enquiries. You will also perform some simple general laboratory procedures.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adaptiveness, flexibility to accommodate changes in response to client needs, careful attention to detail, and a commitment to achieving positive outcomes.
This position will require the applicant to work on a rotating roster that includes out‐of‐hours shifts, to support the 24/7 operation of the laboratory. Weekend, evening, and overnight shifts are included.
Requirements & Conditions
* Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy.
* Part‐time at 14.7 hours per week; full‐time salary pro‐rated.
* Position is temporary for six months, with possibility of extension and/or permanency.
