Speech Language Pathologist - Black Mountain School Full-time Temporary with a Possibility of Permanency

Details: We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Speech Pathologist to join our Black Mountain School Student Engagement Team (SET) to be part of our multidisciplinary team comprising of speech pathology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and psychology.

This is an on-site position, and clinicians are required to work on school grounds for the duration of the standard school day, during school terms. Flexible working arrangements may be considered during stand down (school holiday) periods, in consultation with the BMS Director for Allied Health.

Speech Pathologists at Black Mountain School may provide consultation, assessment and intervention in the following areas:

* Provide evidence-based speech pathology assessment and support (Universal, Selected and/or Targeted) based on principles of inclusion; for students with additional speech, language, communication and mealtime needs who are experiencing barriers to learning and participation at school.
* Provide information, advice and professional learning to teachers, school leaders, support staff and other allied health professionals to enhance the teaching and support of students with additional speech, language, communication and mealtime management needs.
* Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of reasonable adjustments and interventions which support schools and students as part of the school curriculum.
* Manage caseloads of an often-complex nature, coordinating the development of curriculum-based resources, school-based intervention programs, projects and initiatives, utilizing a range of service delivery models that reflect best practice.
* Actively participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team within the Black Mountain School (BMS) Student Engagement Team (SET) whilst managing competing priorities to ensure a quality sustainable service.
* Maintain professional and statistical records to provide professional accountability.
* All positions will be provided support appropriate to the HP level, and clinical supervision requirements.
Eligibility/Other requirements
* Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology.
* Eligibility for certified practicing membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
* Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to -Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra.
* Current drivers' licence is essential, including access to a private vehicle for work purposes.

Note: This is a temporary position available from 2 September 2026 to 02 July 2027 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency.

A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill similar vacancies over the next 12 months.
