We are seeking Full-Time Security Relief Officers to join our Flexible Standby Rosters, providing coverage and relief across multiple sites throughout Sydney. This role suits Officers who enjoy variety, can adapt quickly, and are prepared to be deployed on short notice. Successful applicants must be willing to travel across Sydney (or within agreed sub-regions/security sectors).
You will be cross-trained and upskilled with multiple licences and qualifications, enabling deployment across a wide range of sites and operational environments. Staff must be willing to attain qualifications such as Traffic Control, Fire Warden, Working With Children Checks, and other site-specific requirements as needed.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, including the chance to work at major events across Sydney. You must be available for the majority of (ideally all) major event deployments.
This is an excellent opportunity to grow as a security professional, gaining hands-on experience across diverse locations, refining your skills, and building a strong platform for progression. With opportunities for development and growth within a small and dedicated team, this role provides a pathway towards becoming a trained Event Security Supervisor.
Relieving Security Officers can also request transfers and will be prioritised for full time vacancies at preferred sites when opportunities arise.
Please note: This role requires applicants to hold a full unrestricted NSW Driver Licence and a valid NSW 1A Security Licence.
Responsibilities and duties
- Provide visitor customer service, direction, and information
- Protect physical assets, which includes regular pedestrian and vehicle patrols
- Monitor and guide the behaviour of people in places
- Observe facilities to reduce risk and maintain public safety
- Respond to incidents as first responder
- Prepare general security records and reports
- Provide facility access control.
Essential Criteria
- Ability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster
- Security Licence (NSW 1A)
- Full NSW Drivers Licence
- First Aid and CPR (current)
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Competency Card (current)
- Customer service experience
- Superior communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Exceptional personal presentation
- Reliability and punctuality
Willing to obtain
- Traffic Control and Implement Traffic Management Plan certificates/cards
- White Card
- Fire Warden
- Working with Children Check
