About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Family Lawyer to join our growing team. The successful candidates will manage a diverse caseload involving property settlements, parenting disputes, related family law matters and domestic violence. The Senior Family Lawyer will also play a key role contributing to the strategic direction of our Underwood practice.
The role is offered on an on-site basis, located in our Underwood office. We promote flexible working arrangements yet value the office and inter-office interactions of our valued staff and the daily contributions they make to our firm.
Key Responsibilities:
* Advise clients on all aspects of family law, including property division, parenting arrangements, and financial agreements.
* Prepare and draft legal documents, including affidavits, consent orders, and court applications.
* Represent clients in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, including conciliation conferences and FDR processes.
* Manage files autonomously from initial consultation to finalisation.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and case law.
* Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and support staff.
* Contribute to business development and practice growth initiatives.
* Provide strategic advice on complex matters and high-value property settlements.
* Lead negotiations and appear in complex court proceedings, briefing Counsel where required.
About You:
* Admitted to practice as a solicitor in Queensland and hold a current practising certificate.
* Minimum 5 years' post-admission experience in family law, with a proven track record in complex property and children's matters.
* Accredited Specialist in Family Law (as recognised by the Queensland Law Society) would be highly regarded yet not essential.
* Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities.
* Advanced negotiation, advocacy, and client management skills.
* Strong business development acumen.
* Demonstrated ability to meet a 5 ½ hour daily budget.
