Job Title: Health and Safety Coordinator
We are seeking a Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team. This role will see you influencing employees, contractors, and visitors on all health and safety matters in line with our company's policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
* Communicate health and safety requirements to subcontractors on site
* Review subcontractor health and safety interview questionnaires and verify their capability to deliver work tasks to agreed health and safety standards
* Report any key issues to the project leadership team and regional health and safety management
* Assist in identifying key areas and develop health and safety training needs analysis (safety and learning development supporters)
* Assist/carry out monitoring of current competencies and support ongoing development needs
* Deliver training throughout the project (where allowed by clients)
* Assist in incident investigations and report to appropriate personnel
* Assist in site communication
* Prepare project or workplace health and safety inductions and prepare, conduct, and/or coordinate health and safety training programs
* Regularly review project health and safety systems and plans against activity requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
* Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification
* Certificate IV in Health and Safety
* Bachelor degree in Safety, Environment, Engineering, Project Management, or other associated disciplines
* ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 Lead Auditor Qualification
* Previous experience as a Health and Safety Practitioner in construction and engineering, heavy industry, or other high-risk industries
* Previous experience working under Victorian Workplace Health and Safety legislation and Codes of Practice
* Preferred previous experience in solar farms in regional Victoria
* Knowledge of business administration
* Capability of using health and safety management and technique tools/software
* Incident report and management skills

* Skills in health and safety management techniques and tools
* Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects
* Skills in data gathering, statistical, and trend analysis
* Conducting and interpreting audits and reviews
* Skills in document management processes including recording, monitoring, and archiving, and producing routine written communications
* Skills in identifying health and safety improvements to systems, processes, and/or products
* Experience using relevant computer software packages; use of basic functions of word processing, spreadsheet, and email software
* Monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvement on performance, compliance, and defects and/or non-conformance
* Training in basic risk activities and programs to small groups
* Knowledge of safety and rehabilitation management systems and relevant IMS procedures
* Knowledge of environmental management systems and relevant IMS procedures
* Knowledge of applicable standards, especially AS/NZS 14001:2016 and AS/NZS 45001:2018
* Knowledge of safety legislation and statutes, and ability to interpret any applicable statutes or legislation relevant to the project
* Expertise in project management structure, plans, and implications for health and safety and accountabilities
* Knowledge of auditing, health and safety inspections, and compliance reporting procedures and processes
* Knowledge of compliance and reporting procedures and processes
* Knowledge of document compliance procedures and processes, and understanding of technology to support health and safety systems
* Ability to implement naming conventions and document control strategies within a project-based system
* Understanding of incident management and reporting involving multiple internal and external parties
