Overview
As a member of Council's technology and business systems environment, this position is required to design and evolve Council's technology systems landscape, including both internal and community-facing systems, to maximise the value of Council's investment in business systems and align with organisational strategies and policies.
The Coordinator Business Systems works collaboratively with internal stakeholders, external providers and implementation partners to guide the design, configuration, testing and rollout of best practice business systems and solutions. The role plays a key part in shaping future state system architecture, identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, and supporting continuous improvement across Council's systems and processes.
This position provides strategic oversight of business systems design and performance, including defining system roadmaps, rationalising applications, and aligning business requirements with effective technical solutions. The role also leads a team to deliver outcomes, supporting staff development, fostering a collaborative and high‐performing culture, and guiding the organisation through technology‐enabled change.
Responsibilities
* Developing a deep understanding of Council's current applications, systems and processes to identify improvement opportunities and define future state roadmaps
* Designing and rationalising business systems, including identifying opportunities to retire legacy or redundant systems
* Aligning business requirements with best practice approaches to deliver effective system and process solutions
* Analysing business processes and system performance and providing recommendations to improve efficiency and outcomes
* Leading business systems change initiatives, including supporting implementation, adoption and continuous improvement activities
* Managing and developing team members, including setting expectations, monitoring performance and supporting capability development
Qualifications
* A degree or diploma in Information Technology or a related discipline, or extensive and diverse relevant experience
* Demonstrated experience delivering complex business systems implementations, including on premise or cloud based solutions
* Strong understanding of business systems architecture and experience delivering end to end solutions across complex environments
* Knowledge and experience in enterprise architecture analysis, process design and system integration approaches
* Experience in financial modelling, budgeting, and supporting business case development and investment decisions
* Proven people leadership capability, with experience managing teams and supporting organisational change

Location: Werribee based with potential for a hybrid work arrangement. Employment type: Full time, Permanent. Hours per week: 38. Remuneration: Band 8 salary from $132,607.76 per annum (pro-rata) plus superannuation and a fortnightly RDO.
