About the roleThe Pharmacy Department provides services seven days a week and the position is required to participate in departmental rosters, including after-hours and weekend and on call services and may be called on to work in locations across Metro North Hospital and Health Service (MNHHS) as well as the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) campus.About youOur ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:Provide clinical pharmacy services using experience and expertise in multiple areas within the pharmacy team (subject to rotation), including:delivery of efficient and effective medicines distribution/dispensing to both inpatients and outpatients;undertake medication history interviews upon admission, medication reviews, and formulation of pharmaceutical care plans including provision of high level assistance to staff of other health profession disciplines;participate in discharge planning including meetings, ward visits and discharge medication counselling, and continuity of care liaison with community health providers;provide accurate verbal and/or written drug information and education/training to medical, nursing and allied health staff and patients/carers;undertake drug therapy monitoring and participate in medicines usage evaluations and collection of key performance indicator when working for Metro North Allied HealthFlexible working arrangements and competitive salary rates with annual incremental increasesBenefit from a higher than standard employer contribution to Superannuation of 12.75% and access to generous salary packagingAdditional entitlements for employees (casual employees excluded) may include sick leave, carer's leave, long service leave, paid parental leave, leave without pay to travel, professional development allowance and leave5% annual leave loading with up to 27.5% for shift workersRewarding career and development opportunities across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical areasValue driven organisation which provides a work environment that is safe, satisfying, flexible, and promotes a healthy work-life balanceBe part of a world-class, dynamic and growing health service that embraces technology and innovation, excellence in healthcare, quality teaching and cutting edge research.
