The mission of Speechify is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning. Over 50 million people use Speechify's text‐to‐speech products to turn whatever they're reading – PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, websites – into audio, so they can read faster, read more, and remember more. Speechify's products include its iOS app, Android app, macOS app, Chrome extension, and web app.
Overview
With the growth of our iOS app, which is the #18 productivity app in the App Store category and has recently been recognized as Apple's 2025 Design Award for inclusivity, we are looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to support our growing user base and work on new and exciting projects.
Responsibilities
* Lead key engineering and product decisions.
* Ship production code for the Speechify iOS app.
* Work within a dedicated product team.
* Participate in product discussions to shape the roadmap.
* Maintain and enhance the existing complex app architecture.
Ideal Candidate
* Experienced building products that scale to a large user base.
* Track record of shipping from inception to traction, and responsible for the product end‐to‐end.
* Customer‐obsessed and focused on delivering the best experience.
* Strong product thinking and ability to make thoughtful decisions that guide designers and internal teams.
* Fast, capable of deciding what can ship now and what must wait.
* Ability to focus in a high‐growth, remote environment.
* Proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI.
Technical Requirements
* Swift programming language.
* SwiftUI experience.
* Experience with multithreading programming.
* Experience with CI/CD infrastructure.
* Experience with Fastlane.
* Solid grasp of SOLID principles and best software design.
* Experience with Git and familiarity with different Git strategies.
