Overview
Foodbank Queensland is the state's largest hunger relief organisation, supporting more than 135,000 Queenslanders experiencing food insecurity and providing breakfast to 52,000 children every school week through a network of community partners and schools. The organisation also rescues surplus food to reduce landfill and protect the environment. By 2023, Foodbank delivered 12.7 million kilograms of food and groceries, equivalent to 22 million meals and 1.1 million breakfasts.
Role Summary
As Chief Executive Officer, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to an organisation with strong purpose, significant scale and a growing statewide impact. Reporting directly to and working closely with the Board, you will lead the organisation through an important period of transformation, ensuring long‐term sustainability while continuing to deliver meaningful outcomes for Queensland communities.
Responsibilities
* Develop and execute a strategic vision that advances the organisation's mission and promotes long‐term sustainability.
* Lead complex operations and supply chain activities to ensure efficient delivery of services.
* Inspire and manage high‐performing teams across the organisation, fostering a values‐driven culture.
* Strengthen relationships with government, corporate, philanthropic, and community stakeholders.
* Work closely with the Board to provide governance, reporting and strategic oversight.
* Drive innovation and transformation initiatives that enhance impact and operational excellence.
* Represent the organisation in public forums and advocate for food security and community resilience.
Qualifications
* Proven executive leadership experience, ideally within not‐for‐profit, logistics, supply chain, food or community sectors.
* Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience leading complex organisations.
* Track record of driving strategic transformation and operational excellence.
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement capability across government, corporate, philanthropic and community sectors.
* Experience working effectively with Boards and strong governance expertise.
* Ability to lead and inspire diverse teams within a values‐driven culture.
* Outstanding communication, advocacy and relationship management skills.
* Genuine commitment to social impact and addressing food insecurity.
