Overview
We are seeking an experienced Support Services Director to provide strategic and operational leadership across Food Services, Café Operations, and Environmental Services at Mildura Base Public Hospital. This is a pivotal leadership role within our Engagement and Support Services Directorate, responsible for driving service excellence, innovation and continuous improvement across multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple support service departments
* Develop and implement policies, systems, and standards supporting safe, effective, and compliant operations
* Drive continuous improvement using data, feedback, and innovation to strengthen performance
* Manage large budgets, contracts, and procurement processes responsibly
* Build, lead, and support high‐performing teams, fostering professional development and a positive workplace culture
* Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and organisational standards
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support integrated, patient‐centred service delivery
* Represent Support Services in organisational planning, governance, and improvement forums
Qualifications & Experience
* Demonstrated leadership experience across multiple operational service areas within a complex organisation
* Proven ability to manage large budgets, contracts, and resources effectively and efficiently
* Strong track record in driving continuous improvement and implementing innovative solutions
* Experience leading and developing diverse teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance
* Sound knowledge of compliance, risk, and quality management within a service environment
* Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Strong analytical and strategic planning skills, with the ability to interpret data and inform decision‐making
* Relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive experience in operational or service management
* Current Victorian driver's licence and National Police Record Check (current and satisfactory)
* Willingness to obtain and maintain a Working with Children Check
* Experience in healthcare or hospital service management
* Knowledge of food service, environmental services, or facilities management
* Experience with sustainability and quality improvement frameworks (NSQHSS)
* Previous experience in a public health sector environment
