Location
This role is based at North Eastern Soldiers Memorial Hospital (NESMH) in Scottsdale, one of eight district hospitals across Northern Tasmania.
Role Overview
As Director of Nursing, you will provide senior clinical and operational leadership across emergency, subacute inpatient and community-based services within Hospitals North. You will work with the Assistant Director of Nursing‑Primary Health North and other senior leaders to plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate services that meet community needs and align with Department of Health objectives.
Responsibilities
* Provide senior clinical and operational leadership for emergency, subacute inpatient and community-based services.
* Lead planning, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of services to ensure responsiveness to community needs.
* Ensure professional and clinical governance of nursing services, meeting legislative, regulatory and accreditation standards.
* Manage human, financial and physical resources, ensuring efficient utilisation.
* Lead and support multidisciplinary teams, strengthen partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Promote workforce capability through professional development, performance management and learning opportunities.
* Support best practice, research and innovation to deliver high‑quality care across rural and community settings.
* Provide high-level professional advice, represent the Department on committees and working groups, and contribute to broader clinical priorities.
Qualifications
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
* Relevant post‑graduate qualifications (desirable).
* Current driver’s licence (desirable).
Salary and Benefits
Salary: $142,632 per annum (salary range in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023) plus a 12% superannuation contribution.
Allowances may include: Post Graduate Allowance up to 10% and Rural Professional Development Allowance of 4%.
