ABOUT THE ROLE
The Career Medical Officer (CMO) will play a critical role in providing comprehensive medical care to patients across various departments at The Bays Hospital. The Bays is a 107-bed hospital with 5 operating theatres, HDU, Maternity, Day Infusion and medical/surgical wards.
This position involves supporting our Visiting Medical Officers (VMO) to provide care for patients with a wide range of medical conditions and surgical procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provide high-quality medical care and treatment to patients under the direction of the VMO
* Conduct patient assessments, including physical examinations, medical history reviews, and care as directed by the VMO.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans on behalf of VMOs and in collaboration with patients and their families
* Participate in emergency response teams across hospital
* Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, standards, and regulations, including infection control and safety procedures
ABOUT YOU:
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes:
* Full registration as a Medical Practitioner by AHPRA with unrestricted practice
* A minimum of 3 years of postgraduate medical experience
* Current ALS certification
* Demonstrated competency with the management of High Dependency level patients
* Well-developed and referenced clinical skills
* Excellent communication skills in relation to liaising with VMO's, Clinical staff and family
