Offer description

Mining People International – West Perth WA

Staying compliant in a fast-moving mining project isn't the same as driving real progress. This role gives you the scope to shape land, environment, and access outcomes that keep projects on track and moving forward.

Position

You will join as Land Environment Officer, reporting to the Land Environment Strategy Manager. Based in West Perth with occasional site travel, this full‐time staff position delivers hands‐on support across land tenure, regulatory compliance, heritage, native title, and stakeholder matters as the company advances from exploration through development to production.

What the role delivers

* Drive execution of compliance processes: identify obligations, assess risks, implement controls, monitor outcomes, and maintain accurate obligation registers.
* Plan and coordinate project readiness reviews, design practical tools and templates for audits and inspections, and work directly with project managers, legal, regulators, and site teams to resolve issues before they escalate.
* Assist with negotiation of access agreements to address Warden's Court objections, supporting cultural heritage planning, Traditional Owner consultations, and heritage surveys.
* Use GIS tools for spatial analysis, produce high‐quality reports and communications, and deliver targeted training to embed consistent compliance standards across the business.
* Build trust with internal teams, Indigenous groups, communities, and government agencies.
* Develop systems from the ground up and influence compliance maturity in a growing organisation.

Who this suits

* Degree in law, business, science or related discipline plus a minimum of 5 years' regulatory experience in mining, construction or energy.
* Experience in change management and system adoption, mining legislation, tenement management, heritage, and environmental requirements.
* Stakeholder engagement, auditing, GIS, and clear persuasive communication across all levels.
* Strong analytical skills, practical problem‐solving, emotional intelligence, persistence to influence without direct authority.
* High integrity, initiative, and adaptability.

This role offers the chance to make a visible impact in a dynamic junior‐to‐producer transition. You will work in a collaborative environment where your contributions to secure land access, regulatory compliance, and sustainable project delivery are directly valued.

Requirements

MPI Recruitment are only able to consider candidates with appropriate and relevant experience who are Australian Permanent Residents or hold valid Australian working rights.
