The new SMHRU unit offers mental health rehabilitation services for individuals needing extended inpatient care in a secure environment. Our focus is on autonomy, self-determination, and working collaboratively towards independent living. All consumers are over 18 years of age.
About Your New Role
Gold Coast Health has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Enrolled Nurse to join our newly developed Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Key Responsibilities
* Support consumers in their recovery and wellbeing by working towards their goals, wishes and aspirations and relapse prevention
* Implement rehabilitation and recovery-orientated mental health practice
* Provide relevant, contemporary information and education to patients, clients and families and caregivers
Qualifications
* NMBA Registration
* Board (NMBA) approved qualification in medication administration is required. Completion of 519HLTEN A, B or C or 007HLTEN will be highly regarded
* Demonstrated experience as an Enrolled Nurse or at a minimum, 6 months graduate transition post registration
* Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
* Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
* Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
* Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
Permanent Part time (multiple positions, hours negotiable)
Base salary ranging from $37.92 - $40.25 per hour
