The Guidance Officer Wellbeing role in South East Region schools [Robina State High School] will be to provide direct support to students for mild to moderate mental health difficulties under the department's Student Wellbeing Package. They will add to the support already available to students and become an integral part of the school's existing school-based support team.
Priorities Of The Role Include
1. Identification, support and therapeutic intervention planning for students' mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
2. Provide advice and counselling on educational, behavioural, vocational, personal, social, family and mental health and wellbeing issues for students with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
3. Provide support and ensure safety plans for the school context are implemented for students who are self-harming and/or at risk of suicide.
4. Support promotion, prevention, awareness and capability building regarding mental health and wellbeing within the school community and school leadership teams.
5. Collect data relevant to the role of Guidance Officer – Student Wellbeing, including pre- and post-intervention data and recording this data, alongside other key data, on a tracking tool for regional and state-wide data collection purposes.
