About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to create a secure and nurturing home environment for Children and Young People who have experienced childhood trauma, abuse, or neglect.
* Promote and assist young people to achieve goals identified in Individual Case Plans
* Assist young people to develop independence and build community networks
* Support the young person's interests
* Establish a rapport and collaborate effectively with young people to achieve positive outcomes
* Manage behavioural escalations and assist the young person to co-regulate emotionally
* Domestic duties and supporting the young person to learn how to look after themselves
* Communicate with the care team and report incidents promptly and accurately
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of childhood trauma and its impacts, and demonstrate highly effective interpersonal skills. They will be able to promote the well-being and development of the young person, whilst also ensuring their physical and emotional safety.
Key Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
* Prior experience working with children and young people
* A comprehensive understanding of childhood trauma and its impacts
* Highly effective interpersonal skills
* The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
