Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will lead the direction of Digital, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Electricity and Automation (E&A) within the Oceania market in line with corporate guidelines.

Ensure that all Digital and MES-E&A activities enhance business objectives, TDC delivery, product quality and plant operation/performance while ensuring that people health and safety, product safety and environment are never compromised. Most of the time is spent overseeing the area of responsibility, planning, prioritising and/or influencing the activities of factory and project E&A teams.

A day in the life...

Providing support to the Chief Engineer in the Specialist Engineering area, your responsibilities will include:

* Maintain and develop the key MES-E&A core competencies by coaching MES-E&A engineers in the market.
* Ensure the development of MES-E&A talents, review career and succession planning, and align engineering resources with market/business strategies and objectives.
* Support and monitor capital investments in the market from preparation to implementation in terms of technical soundness, regional standardisation, costs and resources, ensuring alignment with standards, flawless implementation and CQV (commissioning, qualification and verification).
* Ensure Process & Equipment safety for people, products and environment and that everyone demonstrates an attitude of absolute intolerance for unsafe situations.
* Ensure that Change Management is in place in the factories to appropriately manage modifications in the MES-E&A solutions.
* Ensure the application of the market MES-E&A related legislation (e.g. electrical, calibration, equipment maintenance, etc).
* Ensure that MES-E&A engineers in the factories master the processes and products to fully support initiatives related to Innovation & Renovation and Continuous Improvement, while protecting technological know‐how.
* Support the appropriate use of engineering tools at site level (e.g. NSAT, NEST, AMM, etc.).
* Participate in local assessment concerning safety, health, environment, product safety and product quality.
* Monitor MES-E&A impact in terms of line efficiency and performance at the factories.

What Will Make You Successful

* Lead a collaborative team of specialists, delivering quality outcomes with efficiency and a passion for continuous process improvement.
* Minimum 7 years of experience as an Automation and/or MES Engineer with electrical expertise, including roles as Project Engineer, Project Manager or Factory MES‐E&A Engineer.
* Supervise technical teams, contractors or other third parties.
* Prepare investment budgets and acquire technical equipment for production and/or industrial services.
* Participate in multidisciplinary engineering projects, preferably covering various products and technologies in electrical and automation areas.
* Participate in the start‐up of technical equipment and/or production lines.
* Self‐manage, follow defined KPIs/Objectives, and proactively track progress.
* Exposure to TPM planned maintenance and/or maintenance execution is desired but not required.
* Possess strong communication, negotiation, problem‐solving, analysis and decision‐making abilities.
