Allura Partners are exclusively partnering with a Tier 1 Private Equity firm on a search for a Group Financial Controller to join one of their Technology assets. Our client is a global leader in it's field and have gone through impressive growth over the last two years.
Role Purpose:
The Group Financial Controller leads financial control across the group, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant reporting, a strong control environment and effective oversight of core accounting operations.
The role is responsible for group consolidation, statutory reporting, external audit, technical accounting, treasury and balance sheet integrity. It also oversees billing operations, supports a multi-entity environment across Australia, New Zealand and the UK.
* Drive a disciplined and well governed month-end close process, including review of journals, reconciliations and reporting deliverables
* Ensure integrity of the general ledger, balance sheet and close processes across all entities
* Prepare and review monthly financial results and support the preparation of board ready reporting
* Continuously improve close, control and reporting processes, making smart use of Xero and the supporting finance tech stack to simplify work and raise quality
Group Reporting, Audit & Compliance:
* Lead group consolidation and year-end statutory financial reporting
* Manage the external audit process and maintain audit-ready working papers
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory obligations and internal policies across Australia, New Zealand and the UK
* Review accounting treatment for complex or non-routine transactions and bring a practical, commercially aware approach to new challenges
* Oversee billing operations across the group
* Ensure billing processes are accurate, timely and well controlled
* Support strong working capital outcomes through oversight of receivables, payables and cash governance
* Ensure appropriate accounting for intercompany balances and related transactions
* Lead and develop the financial control team, including billing, financial accounting, AP and AR, establishing clear performance standards
* Build capability, accountability and a strong control culture across the team
* Drive process improvement and systems enhancement across reporting, controls and finance operations, creating an environment where people look for better ways to work
Required Experience:
* 10+ years' experience in financial accounting, financial control or group reporting roles
* CA/CPA qualified with strong technical accounting capability, Big 4 or mid-tier audit background preferred
* Experience leading close, statutory reporting, audit and balance sheet governance
* Experience in multi-entity reporting, consolidation and intercompany accounting, including an understanding of the UK environment
* Experience improving finance processes, systems or ways of working, with the judgement to balance control, pace and practicality
* Proven people leadership experience, including oversight of billing or shared finance operations
* Strong experience with Xero, finance systems and supporting tech stack, plus the confidence to adopt new tools that improve efficiency, insight and team performance
