Role Description
This Casual, on-site underground HD Fitter/Drill Fitter role is based in the Kalgoorlie area. The position is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing heavy mobile equipment and drill rigs used in mining and civil operations. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults, conducting scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and completing detailed service and repair documentation. The role involves working in the field and workshop, performing breakdown support, and carrying out field service tasks on remote or active sites. The HD Fitter/Drill Fitter is expected to follow safe work procedures, adhere to site and company safety standards, and collaborate with supervisors and operators to minimize equipment downtime.
Qualifications
* Strong experience in equipment maintenance, including fault finding, preventative maintenance, and repair of heavy mechanical systems.
* Hands‐on exposure to heavy equipment and mobile equipment typically used in mining and civil operations.
* Proven field service experience, including remote site work and breakdown response.
* Capability and confidence working at height in accordance with safety requirements and procedures.
* Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Heavy Diesel Fitter, Mobile Plant Mechanic, or equivalent).
* Sound understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems on drills and other heavy machinery.
* Commitment to safe work practices, with knowledge of mining and site safety standards.
* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
* Current valid driver's license; additional high‐risk or machinery tickets are an advantage.
* Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team.
