As Legal Counsel at CMC Markets, you will be a key contributor within a fast‐paced financial technology environment, providing critical legal support that influences strategic decisions across our operations in Australia and New Zealand. Based in our Barangaroo office, you'll engage in a broad range of legal matters, from contract negotiation and regulatory compliance to supporting high-impact strategic initiatives. Responsibilities
* Report to, assist and maintain a close working relationship with Senior Legal Counsel APAC and the APAC Legal Team, in order to support the wider APAC Senior Management team to deliver the strategic objectives of the region through everyday transactional or strategic project work.
* Review and negotiate a range of contracts for various vendors engaged by CMC Markets across the region, requiring strong skills in contract review and legal analysis.
* Provide general advice in response to regulatory matters (including financial services and privacy law) and ad‐hoc matters.
* Assist with the management and review of CMC Markets legal disclosure documents and other terms for both the CFD and stockbroking businesses in Australia, New Zealand and any new jurisdiction from time to time.
* Work closely with various parts of the APAC business including Partners, Compliance, Disputes, Marketing and HR.
* Liaise with the APAC Legal Team and globally, where relevant, to ensure that knowledge and relevant information is shared.
Qualifications

3–5 PQE with an unrestricted practising certificate. You'll have a strong foundation in corporate and commercial law, with the ability to clearly communicate complex legal issues to a non‐legal audience. Your excellent organisational, analytical, and negotiation skills enable you to work effectively both independently and within cross‐functional teams. You'll be a trusted partner to the business, providing practical legal support across both transactional matters and strategic projects. An interest in financial technology, and a willingness to dive into the technical aspects of CFD and stockbroking will be highly valued in this role. You must be eligible to work in Australia permanently.
