Responsibilities
* Operating machinery efficiently, safely, and competently to ensure maximum output
* Complying with Thiess policies and procedures
* Responding to instructions from the Mining Supervisor
* Excavating to the design boundaries of ore bodies, berms and pit walls
* Ensuring floor levels are maintained
* Minimising dilution and achieving design parameters within acceptable tolerances
* Setting and maintaining high housekeeping standards
* Carrying out pre‐start checks
Qualifications
* At least 5 years of mining experience as a mining production excavator operator
* Experience operating Hitachi EX and CAT machines essential
* Experience loading dump trucks in a mining production environment essential
* Sound knowledge of ore mark‐ups and pit configuration
* Skills to mine out benches and cut batters, leaving minimal material for final trim to design of batter angle
* Proven compliance and commitment to health and safety at all times
