The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to join our Commercial Finance team, supporting developments across our residential community's portfolio. This role is critical in driving performance insights and enabling strategic decision-making for the state business unit.
Based at our Melbourne Head Office in the Rialto on Collins Street, with regular visits to Master Planned Development sites, this is a front-end business partnering role where you'll be deeply involved in commercial deliverables, project feasibilities, and strategic initiatives. You'll work in a collaborative and inclusive team to:
* Drive Commercial Strategy:
Provide insights that influence capital allocation decisions and optimise returns across the development lifecycle.
* Enable Strategic Decision-Making:
Partner with senior stakeholders to validate financial metrics, model scenarios, and challenge assumptions to shape business plans.
* Performance Leadership:
Identify growth opportunities, manage risks, and interpret market trends to inform long-term strategy.
* Stakeholder Influence:
Build strong relationships with Development, Sales, Marketing, and JV partners to align financial outcomes with business objectives.
* Governance & Accuracy:
Ensure financial integrity across P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow reporting in compliance with Stockland standards.
* Change Leadership:
Champion process improvements and contribute to future-state initiatives that enhance efficiency and business performance.
* Commercial Partnering:
Act as a trusted advisor to project directors and leadership teams, providing actionable insights that drive profitability and sustainability.
About You
You are someone curious about Stockland's development projects, eager to understand the 'why' behind the numbers, and motivated to build strong relationships while driving process improvements.
Experience & Skills That Count
* CA/CPA accreditation with 5–7 years' experience in commercial management, financial accounting, forecasting, analysis, planning, and business insight within a large, complex organisation.
* Proven ability to develop business plans, provide business partnering, and create productive networks.
* Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to process improvement.
* Comfortable partnering with Development, Project, Sales, and Marketing stakeholders to build trusted relationships and challenge assumptions.
* Willingness to maintain a regular presence on development sites and work three days per week in the Melbourne Head Office.
