Ted Quinton Architecture Pty Ltd is a Sydney-based architectural practice with over 20 years of experience, currently expanding its practice. The studio specialises in high‐end residential projects, including custom homes, alterations and additions, and works across all project stages from early design through to construction, with a strong focus on clarity of documentation and built outcomes.
The Role
This role focuses on the preparation and coordination of architectural documentation across all stages of residential and private projects, from early concept through to construction. The position involves both technical drafting and support to the design process, assisting in the development and resolution of architectural ideas. You will work closely with the lead architect to translate design intent into clear, accurate and well‐resolved drawing packages, while coordinating with consultants and ensuring documentation is consistent, buildable and aligned with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of architectural drawings across concept, DA/CDC and construction stages
* Development of 2D and 3D design drawings and documentation packages
* Production of detailed construction documentation including plans, sections and details
* Coordination of drawings with consultants including structural engineers, landscape designers, interior designers and joiners
* Liaison with builders and contractors to ensure documentation is accurate and buildable
* Ensuring documentation complies with NCC requirements and relevant codes
* Assisting in design development and resolving architectural details throughout project stages
* Updating and maintaining drawing sets throughout the life of the project
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 3+ years' experience in architectural drafting or residential documentation
* Relevant tertiary qualification (minimum Diploma in Architectural Drafting or higher)
* Strong capability in 2D/3D design and documentation
* Experience working on residential projects
* Solid understanding of DA and CDC approval processes
* Robust knowledge of NCC and local council requirements
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail in documentation
* Ability to coordinate effectively with consultants and builders
* Strong communication skills and ability to work within a small team environment
Pay
$77,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
