What you will do

As Justice Officer – Offender Services, you will support prisoner welfare and program delivery at the Metropolitan Remand Centre.

You will help prisoners access support services, orientation programs and referrals before returning to the community.

You will:

* provide practical welfare support and respond to prisoner requests in a timely manner
* deliver group orientation and information sessions for prisoners
* prepare clear case notes and recommendations about prisoner needs and programs
* work with internal staff and external services to arrange referrals and support
* contribute to safe and humane correctional services while supporting rehabilitation.

About you

You do not need formal qualifications for this role. Experience in a correctional setting is helpful but not required.

You should also have:

* strong skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* the resilience to work in a challenging and changing environment
* a respectful approach when working with people from diverse backgrounds
* the ability to solve problems, manage tasks and work well within a team.
