Fremantle Group Training is a not-for-profit community based organisation that is seeking a motivated Field Officer to work with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal School Based Trainees.
As a Group Training Organisation we employ trainees and place them with Host Employers.
School-Based Traineeships (SBTs) provide an opportunity for school students to work with an employer, be paid and trained in a qualification while still at school.
You will be responsible for a mentoring and managing a case load of predominantly Aboriginal School Based trainees,
This role involves:
· promoting School Based Traineeship to Schools, Employers, Families and Students
· Ensuring your Trainees attend the Workplace and any off-the-job training
· Finding Suitable host Employers
· Mentoring the Trainee to keep them engaged in their Traineeship and School
· Travelling to Host Employers, Schools and Training providers
· Managing and maintaining case notes and traineeship paperwork
Applicants should have a keen desire to support young people, be confident, organised and be able to work well both independently and in a team.
Fremantle Group Training is based in Fremantle with site visits required across the metropolitan area. Pool cars are made available for site visits.

Selection Criteria
ESSENTIAL
Understanding of the Cohort and experience working with this group
Well developed communication skills, including interpersonal skills.
2. Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and problem solve.
3. Effective time management skills and organisational skills.
4. Demonstrated computer literacy.
5. An ability to establish networks with key stakeholders including schools, industry, training providers, government agencies and community groups.
6. Demonstrated ability to work with a range of stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for trainees, schools and industry.
7. Maintain a current Working With Children Check.
8. Hold a current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)
9. Maintain a current Australian Drivers Licence.
HIGHLY DESIRABLE
1. Demonstrated knowledge of the Vocational Education & Training Sector, particularly apprenticeships and traineeships.
2. A proven ability to liaise with relevant key stakeholders to identify, develop, implement and market apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities.
3. Proven experience working with and mentoring young people.
4. An understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Group Training Organisation.
