Responsibilities
* Deliver expert mental health assessment, triage and short‐term clinical interventions for students and staff presenting with acute and complex mental health concerns.
* Exercise advanced clinical judgement to assess and manage medical and organisational risk, provide referrals and case coordination with internal and external stakeholders, and support high‐risk individuals through person‐centred, trauma‐informed care.
* Contribute to mental health literacy initiatives, including facilitation of Mental Health First Aid and safeTALK programmes.
* Provide secondary consultation to clinicians and advice to the wider University community.
* Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to compliance and quality assurance processes.
* Support collaborative service delivery across CAPS and University Health Services.
* Work on site across three days per week.
Qualifications
* Extensive experience in acute mental health assessment and management within a clinical, tertiary or emergency triage setting.
* Post‐graduate qualifications in Mental Health Nursing.
* Current AHPRA registration with ACMHN credentials.
* Exceptional interpersonal, counselling and risk management skills, and ability to engage effectively with individuals in crisis using evidence‐based, trauma‐informed approaches.
* Strong communication and stakeholder relationship management capabilities.
* Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Experience in delivering mental health education.
* High‐level competence in clinical systems, case management and reporting.
