Senior Structural Engineer / Engineering Manager – Mining
Location: Newcastle or Hunter Valley (flexible)

What you'll do
* Senior role: Lead high-quality structural design for surface/underground mining facilities, mentor junior engineers, and grow the in-house capability.
* Engineering Manager path: Lead and scale the structural team and co-located disciplines, set governance, and drive multi-project delivery.
* Oversee design, integrity, upgrades (shafts, headframes, conveyors, workshops, ore passes).
* Establish standards, risk reviews, drawings, and documentation; ensure regulatory alignment.
* Collaborate with Geotech, Mechanical, Electrical, and Mine Design; foster integrated solutions.
* Build safety culture, lead incidents, engage clients/regulators, and support bids.
* Resource planning, budgeting, and performance management for rapid delivery.
* Drive continuous improvement and professional development.
What you'll bring
* BE/ME Civil/Structural or equivalent; eligible for CPEng.
* Mining/minerals experience; coal or hard rock preferred.
* Proven delivery leadership: experience building/expanding teams is a plus.
* Strong design, FEA, load paths, fatigue, corrosion, and upgrade strategy skills.
* Familiar with Australian mining standards; procurement/design-for-construction experience.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
