About the department
The Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport (CITS) supports Western Australians across creative industries, sport and recreation, tourism and multicultural interests. CITS builds capacity, provides funding and grants, progresses infrastructure projects, supplies research, policy, and information, and supports major events and projects throughout WA. The department also promotes multiculturalism, protects social and economic wellbeing and champions WA's tourism industry.
About the role
As a Regional Officer located in Bunbury, you will assist with the development of Sport and Recreation facilities and service delivery in the South West region. You will manage partnerships with key stakeholders, lead delivery of quality services and facilities, conduct research, planning and project implementation, and provide advice and guidance to local government, clubs and associations, and the community on sport and recreation trends, issues and opportunities. The position is a fixed‐term role until 30 June 2027, with the possibility of subsequent contracts and/or permanency; the department may consider a job‐share arrangement.
Key responsibilities
* Assist with the development and maintenance of sport and recreation facilities and service delivery.
* Develop and maintain partnerships with stakeholders to lead delivery of quality services and facilities.
* Conduct research, planning and implementation for sport and recreation projects.
* Provide advice and guidance to local government, clubs, associations and the community on sport and recreation trends, issues and opportunities.
Eligibility and requirements
* Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible visa holder.
* Provisional police clearance and conflict‐of‐interest form completed prior to commencement.
