About the team
Digital and Technology Services sits within the Customer and Corporate Affairs directorate and enables Council staff to work effectively across offices, remote locations and the field. The team is responsible for workplace technology, IT service delivery, cyber security, infrastructure and digital platforms that support the organisation's day‐to‐day operations.
About the role
As the Technology Enablement & Service Delivery Lead, you will help shape and elevate the organisation's employee technology experience. You'll ensure that staff have seamless access to secure, reliable and modern digital tools – whether they're working in the office, from home or out in the field.
This role blends leadership, service delivery and workplace technology expertise. You will lead a team of IT Service Desk Officers while championing a customer‐focused approach that aligns services with business needs and delivers against agreed service levels, governance frameworks and security standards. A key part of your impact will be communication – keeping employees informed, supported and confident through clear updates, helpful guidance and the introduction of new features and improvements.
Key responsibilities
* Managing, coaching and developing the IT Helpdesk team to deliver consistent, high‐quality, customer‐focused services.
* Overseeing incident, request, change and problem management in line with ITIL practices.
* Monitoring service performance, analysing trends and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
* Leading service communications, change enablement and user adoption activities.
* Managing vendor relationships and supporting effective service delivery outcomes.
* Participating in a rotating on‐call roster when required.
About you
You are a collaborative and customer‐focused technology leader who is passionate about delivering reliable, secure and user‐centred workplace technology services. You bring strong service delivery expertise, excellent communication skills and the ability to lead teams through operational demands, change and continuous improvement.
You are comfortable translating technical concepts for non‐technical audiences and thrive where technology, people and service outcomes intersect.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline and/or equivalent relevant industry experience.
* Experience leading an IT service delivery team and workplace technology services in a medium to large organisation.
* Strong knowledge of ITIL‐based service management practices.
* Experience administering and optimising Microsoft 365 services, Active Directory / Entra ID, collaboration platforms and end‐user technologies.
* Ability to lead teams, manage vendors and drive service improvement initiatives.
* Strong understanding of cyber security, governance and risk as they relate to workplace technology services.
