TQA Consulting is seeking a Project Manager for a 12-month full-time contract in Darwin, NT. Candidates must be based in Darwin or willing to relocate and have lived in Australia for the past 5 years.

About The Role

In this role, you will lead and coordinate the delivery of the project, ensuring its successful execution and completion while reporting directly to the Program Director.

***You MUST have experience working in a policing, law enforcement, or justice-sector environment, or on projects within such agencies.

In addition, you may be required to support other digital transformation initiatives as directed by the Program Director to align with organisational goals and priorities in the following areas:

* Data improvement and quality assurance
* Registry and portal enhancement
* Legislative, policy, and process reform
* Integration and data sharing between agencies
* Organisational change and stakeholder engagement.

What You'll Do

* Support the Program Director in delivering the project and related initiatives within the broader program.
* Provide leadership, coordination, and oversight of day-to-day project delivery across assigned workstreams, ensuring adherence to governance and reporting frameworks.
* Manage stakeholder relationships effectively, building engagement and collaboration across agencies to achieve project and organisational goals.
* Maintain comprehensive project documentation and prepare clear, high-quality briefings, reports, and artefacts for governance bodies.
* Ensure project activities align with the overall program schedule, dependencies, and benefits plan.
* Represent the agency's interests at national meetings, workshops, and working groups as required.
* Track project progress, risks, and interdependencies, escalating emerging issues to the Program Director for direction and resolution.
* Promote a positive workplace culture that encourages accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement in project delivery.
* Contribute to other projects or initiatives as needed to support consistent and seamless delivery across the program portfolio.

Essential Skills and Experience

* Minimum five (5) years' experience working in the policing, law enforcement, or justice sector, or managing projects within such agencies.
* Demonstrated understanding of, or ability to quickly acquire knowledge of, firearms legislation and national agreements, including the National Firearms Agreement and relevant state and territory laws.
* Ability to develop a sound understanding of the National Firearms Register and its objectives to strengthen information sharing among law enforcement and enhance community safety.
* Proven experience managing ICT-enabled business change or data-uplift projects, particularly those requiring coordination across multiple agencies.
* Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and maintain relationships across operational and senior levels.
* Demonstrated success in project management, business process improvement, and operating effectively within a structured program environment under senior leadership direction.
* Excellent interpersonal, written, and presentation abilities, with the capacity to tailor key messages to diverse audiences.
* Proven ability to manage competing risks, priorities, and deliverables in dynamic and fast-paced environments.

Desirable Skills and Experience

* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.
* Understanding of the key issues, trends, and complexities associated with the Firearms Act 1997 (NT) and the National Firearms Register.
* Experience or familiarity with policing, government data, or case management systems.
