Purpose that Counts
Based in Townsville, the Electronic Repair Centre is looking for an experienced Telecommunications Technician to join their team on a permanent full‐time basis in Townsville. This role will require you to carry out the installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunications and electronic equipment and report on the performance and condition of the telecommunication assets to ensure safe and effective operation.
This role is best suited to a candidate with proven experience in bench repair and knowledge of telemetry and remote monitoring equipment. Staff carrying out this role often work as part of a team from the Electronic Repair Centre and Install and Maintenance sections, cooperating to perform field maintenance.
Key Duties
* Install, maintain and repair telecommunication and electronic equipment to component level in accordance with predefined work programs.
* Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements and legislative policies.
* Maintain records and associated documentation.
* Report on actual work performed and condition irregularities against the scheduled maintenance program.
Qualifications
* Sound skill in the installation, maintenance and fault rectification of telecommunications equipment and systems.
* Unrestricted Driver's License.
* Electronics Trade Certificate (similar qualifications in electronics considered).
* Previous experience in bench repair desirable.
* Be available for call‐out/stand‐by duties, overtime and higher‐grade relief as required.
* Work away from home station and travel throughout Queensland as required.
* Must have the flexibility to work some overtime and weekends when required.
