Overview
The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design and construct Snowy 2.0. This project, based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW, will deliver one of the largest pumped‐hydro schemes in the world and is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia.
Purpose of the Role
The Project Engineer for Power Station Complex FRP Works is responsible for all onsite technical matters, including construction verification works, and for scheduling, monitoring, planning, forecasting, resourcing and managing all technical activities to ensure project accuracy and quality.
This position also assists the Construction department in coordinating the effective operation of a multi‐discipline workforce, combining direct workforce, supplementary labour and external subcontractors. The engineer ensures compliance with all relevant design, safety, quality, community, environmental and sustainability deliverables and documentation.

Experience
* Minimum 5 years' experience in the civil construction industry on large‐scale projects delivering structural concrete (form, reo, pour) scope – mandatory
* Demonstrated experience successfully delivering large work packages with Tier 1 construction contractors
* Previous experience in large‐scale FRP packages – mandatory
* Previous experience interfacing with complex electro‐mechanical works or other trades – preferred
* Experience in pumping and placing high‐performance concrete mixes including via long‐lines and placing booms – preferred
* Previous experience with verification of subcontractors' claims and variations
Required Competencies
* Proven working experience as a Project Engineer with a Tier 1 delivery on large‐scale civil infrastructure
* Ability to interpret and explain technical schedules and documentation
* Sound contract comprehension
* Experience planning and reporting against cost and time
* Strong knowledge and understanding of programme management, deadlines and budget controls
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
* Develop construction methodologies, programmes and SWMS for given packages
* Lead the delivery of subcontract works packages for the structural fit‐out of the Power Station Complex (FRP works) while coordinating with the wider project team, including electro‐mechanical
* Oversee the development and implementation of construction methods onsite in consultation with the Senior Project Engineer and Construction Superintendent
* Daily, weekly and monthly productivity and cost monitoring and reporting
* Procure permanent materials and subcontractors
* Ensure Site Engineers and subordinates are clear on their responsibilities, providing regular feedback to them and developing team members for succession planning
* Manage short‐ and medium‐term construction planning, including development of 6‐WLAH
* Manage subcontractors, suppliers and key project personnel and secure buy‐in to safety and quality strategies
* Develop QA/QC lot maps
* Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure the project is safely delivered in accordance with time, budget and quality requirements
* Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor assigned engineering projects
* Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
* Interact daily with clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field
* Cooperate and communicate effectively with the project manager and other project participants to provide technical support
* Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
* Prepare and coordinate personnel, equipment and materials to ensure effective mobilisation to the site
* Undertake the preparation of variations, including taking off quantities and pricing
* Coordinate and ensure compliance with all design, safety, quality, community and environmental deliverables and documentation
* Produce related studies and/or documentation and method statements as required
* Monitor, document and report physical progress against schedule and any delays or interference which may have affected progress
* Ensure all systems, procedures, statutory requirements, engineering standards and sound construction practices are consistently complied with
* Ensure all day‐work variations and other claims are accurately recorded and reported, and liaise with contract administration to protect the company's financial entitlements
* Actively pursue any gaps in engineering information
