What you'll be doing
As the Clinical Nurse Consultant in Haematology, you will provide advanced clinical leadership, specialist consultancy and expert guidance to support patients with complex haematological needs. You will influence care delivery, strengthen clinical capability and contribute to service-wide improvements.
Key responsibilities will be to:
- Develop, implement and evaluate care plans for patients with complex haematology needs
- Lead ongoing development and review of specialist clinical practice
- Drive evidence-based care by initiating, applying and disseminating research
- Deliver strategic education for clinicians, patients and families across the district
- Support workforce capability through supervision, mentorship and clinical leadership

Essential Criteria:
- Registration: Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
Selection Criteria:
- 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field
- Holds approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to the specialty or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by WSLHD
- Demonstrated leadership skills and excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Extensive understanding of acute and chronic haematological conditions and their current management
- Extensive knowledge of positive clinical practice, policies and procedure
- Proven ability to consult, review, and develop, both new and existing policies and procedures within the relevant speciality
- Computer skills including word processing, presentation, spread sheet applications and clinical information systems such as Powerchart
