About the role
Are you passionate about sports and community engagement? Do you have strong leadership skills and experience in managing facilities? The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is looking for a Supervisor Turf Management to join our dynamic team and help ensure the success of our premier sporting venues.
Duties
Key responsibilities include:
* Facility Management: Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of turf assets, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety and functionality.
* Irrigation Control: Oversee the delivery of irrigation to all green assets and assist with best practice for continued Water Wise accreditation.
* Event Coordination: Support the planning and execution of sporting events, tournaments, and community activities held at all City turf venues.
* Staff Supervision: Lead and manage a team of ground staff and casual workers, providing training and support to maintain an efficient, safe working environment.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with community groups, local sports clubs, event organisers, and other stakeholders to provide a positive experience and ensure the smooth running of events.
* Compliance & Safety: Ensure all facilities comply with relevant health, safety, and regulatory standards, maintaining a safe environment for players, staff, and the public.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you will need:
* Proven experience in turf management, ideally within the sports or recreation sector.
* Focus on minimising waste and delivering optimum irrigation to all city assets.
* Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively.
* Excellent communication skills and a customer‐focused approach.
* A hands‐on, proactive attitude with a keen eye for detail.
* A passion for sport and community development.
* Relevant qualifications or certifications in sports turf management and/or irrigation or proven experience within this field would be highly regarded.
