The Role
Centacare has an opening for a Youth Mental Health Worker join our headspace team at Port Adelaide to join on full-time, fixed term basis until 30 June 2027.
headspace is Australia's National Youth Mental Health Foundation, supporting young people aged 12–25 with mild to moderate or emerging mental health concerns. At headspace Port Adelaide, our multidisciplinary team provides free, youth-friendly services to support mental health, social, vocational, educational, and alcohol and other drug outcomes.
Working in a multidisciplinary team, the Youth Mental Health Worker will provide psychosocial assessment, risk assessment and management, and evidence-based mental health interventions to young people with mild to moderate or emerging mental health concerns to improve youth mental health and wellbeing outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Degree in Social Work, Registered Psychologist, Mental Health OT, Mental Health Nurse, or equivalent degree level qualification.
A valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check.
A valid driver’s licence.
Experience using evidence-based mental health approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or similar psychological interventions.
