Hunter New England Health is seeking a reliable and organised Ward Clerk to join the Mixed Ward team at Maitland Hospital. This rewarding role provides vital administrative support across Medical, Surgical, and Orthopaedic services within a busy hospital environment.
This position offers valuable experience in healthcare administration and the opportunity to build your career within NSW Health while contributing to the smooth operation of a dynamic and patient‐focused ward.
As a key point of contact for patients, families, carers, and clinical staff, you will provide professional, accurate, and timely administrative support to ensure high‐quality service delivery and positive patient experiences.
Your Impact
* Provide consistent, high‐quality customer service as the first point of contact, both face‐to‐face and via telephone.
* Respond to email enquiries, manage patient contact details, and complete billing processes.
* Use computer platforms and electronic medical record systems to maintain accurate documentation and correspondence.
* Provide administrative support to clinical and non‐clinical staff to support smooth day‐to‐day operations, including ordering and invoicing.
* Maintain organised and up‐to‐date filing systems in line with privacy and confidentiality requirements.
* Complete tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Prioritise workload effectively and perform duties responsibly within a fast‐paced environment.
* Work collaboratively with patients, families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
