About the role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of engineering and fabrication projects within our Welshpool, WA operations.
This role will see you managing projects end-to-end across a mix of workshop and site-based activities. You will be responsible for coordinating resources, managing timelines and budgets, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
* Manage end-to-end delivery of fabrication and engineering projects
* Interpret drawings, specifications, and project requirements
* Coordinate workflow between workshop, site teams, and subcontractors
* Manage scope, variations, and project deliverables
Scheduling & Cost Control
* Develop and maintain project schedules and milestones
* Monitor labour, materials, and subcontractor costs
* Track progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders
* Identify risks and implement solutions proactively
Quality & Compliance
* Ensure projects meet relevant Australian Standards (e.g. AS1554) and client specifications
* Oversee quality documentation, inspections, and reporting
* Support completion of project documentation and handover packages
HSE & Site Coordination
* Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all projects
* Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, SWMS, and site procedures
* Coordinate site activities, including installations where required
Communication & Stakeholder Management
* Act as the key point of contact for clients and internal teams
* Work closely with estimating, planning, workshop, QA, and procurement teams
* Manage variations, extensions of time (EOTs), and contractual communication
About You
* Proven experience as a Project Manager in engineering, construction, or fabrication
* Experience managing multiple projects in a workshop and/or site environment
* Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost control, and delivery
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
* Mechanical trade or engineering qualification
* Experience in steel fabrication or manufacturing environments
* Understanding of welding, fabrication processes, or QA requirements
* Experience with ERP systems, scheduling, or job costing software
