About the Role
As a Direct Care Worker, you will play a key role in supporting residents with their daily living needs, delivering compassionate, person-centred care. Your responsibilities include assisting with personal hygiene, bathing, showering, dressing and grooming, as well as supporting toileting and continence care. You will also assist residents with meals and hydration, and support safe mobility through transfers and the use of mechanical lifting aids where required.
In addition, you will contribute to maintaining a clean and safe environment by completing tasks such as bed making, cleaning and sanitising equipment and utensils, and managing the distribution of laundry and personal clothing. You will observe and report on resident wellbeing, contribute to basic assessments, and assist in identifying individual and group diversional therapy needs. Accurate documentation and adherence to established policies and procedures are essential.
What You'll Bring
* A Certificate III qualification in Individual Support or equivalent (relevant to the role)
* Proven ability to work effectively in a team and support colleagues
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse clients
* Ability to work independently, use initiative, and exercise sound judgement with limited direction
* Experience in providing direct care, ideally supporting aged, frail or disabled people
* Ability to manage deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and deliver quality outcomes

Appointment Requirements
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and appropriate immunisation requirements:
* DHS National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Check
* National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups required for this position (e.g., aged care employment or work involving vulnerable clients)
* Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category A
