We seek an elite leadership professional to steer the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) toward strategic maturity.
The Role
As the Digital Project Lead you will serve as a strategic enabler and trusted advisor. Rather than strictly enforcing rigid methodologies, your mandate is to partner collaboratively with existing teams to co-design, mature, and embed practical, scalable project frameworks.
You will lead a small team of specialists, providing end-to-end oversight of investment lifecycle, enterprise governance and benefits realisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Governance & Reporting: Facilitate executive-level investment committees and deliver high-quality portfolio reporting on risks, milestones, and performance metrics.
* Delivery Enablement: Co-design fit-for-purpose templates, project artefacts, and playbooks that reduce execution complexity and foster consistency across digital and business streams.
* Assurance & Quality: Oversee the enterprise project assurance framework, conducting constructive gate reviews and project health checks with a focus on coaching over enforcement.
* Benefits Realisation: Manage the tracking and reporting of post-implementation benefits to ensure ongoing accountability and transparent, data-driven investment decisions.
* Knowledge & Improvement: Establish mechanisms for a centralised lessons-learned repository to drive a continuous improvement culture.
Required Experience & Capabilities
* Portfolio Leadership: Deep experience establishing, leading, or maturing EPMO/TMO functions in highly complex environments.
* Collaborative Governance: Proven track record managing investment lifecycles, enterprise governance forums, and benefit tracking models.
* Framework Design: Expert-level skills in building practical project delivery frameworks, assurance methods, and best-practice toolkits.
* Influencing & Partnership: Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence senior executives and build consensus through evidence-based insights.
* Team Leadership: Experience managing specialised portfolio/PMO teams through periods of organisational change.
* Prior experience navigating government, public sector, or heavily regulated operating environments.
* Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives and enterprise technology delivery portfolios.
